Walter Diggelmann, CEO, Co-Founder (Zurich)

As CEO & CTO, Walter is the chief evangelist and visionary for the ai-one and its technology. Walter has been a consultant and co-founder of various companies in Switzerland, the US and Germany. His focus has been on the marketing of new technologies. Walter was a lecturer in business planning and case studies at the Polygraphic Academy of Zurich for 18 years. In addition, he spent two years working as a venture capitalist, where he invested over 40 million CHF that resulted in a high rate of successful ventures. Walter has a Post-Baccalaureate degree in Engineering from the Polygraphic Academy of Zurich and is one of the co-founders of ai-one.

Thomas Marsh, President & COO (La Jolla)

Tom serves as COO with primary responsibility for sales, marketing and administration worldwide. Tom has international experience in startup, turnaround, and growth situations in the medical device, marketing, and software industries for both public and private companies. He brings expertise in the execution of growth strategies and business development in technology businesses, primarily B2B selling to large Fortune 500 firms. Most recently, Tom was CEO of PriMetricaAsia, a data management and marketing services business. Prior to that, he was CEO of Viking Systems, Inc., where he led the public company through several funding rounds and built the sales, marketing and clinical organization. Tom began his career with a garage startup in electronics in Chicago followed by an acquisition of a software business in San Diego serving the oil industry. Tom majored in Economics at Williams College.

Andreas Thiele, SVP European Operations (Berlin)

With the acquisition of ai-one gmbh (formerly PPM Data Management GmbH) in the fall of 2010, Andreas assumed responsibility for EU sales and technical support for ai-one. Since 1989 he has been an entrepreneur in the field of publishing, media and computer science, serving as CEO of MediaSoft GmbH and Managing Director of CCS Computer Systems GmbH Berlin / Hamburg (formerly CCS Micro Technology GmbH Hamburg), among others. Andreas Thiele is a lecturer at the School of Economics and Technology Berlin. He is also active in social projects, such as the Björn-Schulz-Foundation, an organization that cares for critically ill children and young people. Andreas has a bachelor’s degree as Dipl.-Ing. for Graphic Technology and Media from Technical University of Leipzig.

Manfred Hoffleisch, Head of R&D, Co-Founder (Zurich)

Manfred, a co-founder of ai-one, is the inventor of the Hoffleisch Neuronal Nets and the author of the generic formula for pattern recognition. An RF technician from the region of Munich, he was a scientist and a technical protégé in his childhood. Manfred Hoffleisch is the creator of numerous inventions. In 1969 he shifted his focus to IT and it was his goal to change the field to the new paradigm of intelligent systems. After 15 years of research Manfred met Walter Diggelmann and they founded ai-one to support his innovative approach in computer technology. Manfred Hoffleisch continues to contribute other innovative solutions for the future products of ai-one.

Thomas Diggelmann, VP Technology, Co-Founder (Zurich)

Thomas is a co-founder of ai-one. In this position he has implemented solutions and extended the technology of Hoffleisch with the Topic-Mapper and UltraMatch APIs. His experience has positioned him as a lead architect for new applications of biologically inspired neural network (BINN) computing. Thomas leads knowledge transfer and instructs other software architects and developers on the application of new solutions based on ai-one. Thomas has a professional baccalaureate degree in Information Technology.

Kurt Manninen, Vice President of Product Development (La Jolla)

Kurt is responsible for creating applications that demonstrate the power of ai-one’s machine learning technologies. He is passionate about finding innovative ways to combine technologies to solve a customer problem. Kurt joins our team after a distinguishing career as a systems engineer at IBM and Lockheed Martin. His experience includes systems design and product development efforts for the US Navy and Air Force, the telecommunications industry, the California Department of Education, IBM’s Systems Engineering Workbench, and charity work in India. Kurt’s skills include user experience and design, requirements management, coding and scripting, databases, graph visualization, process modeling, cloud computing, test management, Agile, eXtreme Programming, and team leadership. Kurt graduated with a computer science degree from Kalamazoo College in Michigan.
